At A1 Russian, learners are beginning to use familiar words and simple sentences in predictable everyday situations.

About this course
The course develops spoken and listening Russian through pair and group work, role plays, games and other communicative activities, supported by presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources. Participants work with language for hotels, restaurants, leisure, daily routines, languages and days of the week. Grammar includes nouns and pronouns, selected declensions, present and past-tense verbs, adjectives and numbers above 100. Homework is highly recommended to consolidate classroom learning.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for near beginners continuing from Russian Beginners: Module 1 or learners with equivalent knowledge. Participants should already know the Russian alphabet. The teaching involves spoken interaction, pair and group work, role plays and games.
- Previous Russian study or equivalent knowledge is expected.
- Knowledge of the Russian alphabet is expected.
- Homework is highly recommended between classes.
