Salsa Intensive - Improvers 1

About this course

The class develops salsa beyond foundational steps through a gradual sequence of footwork, transitions and more complex combinations. After revisiting basic steps and moves, participants work on improvers’ cross-body lead patterns and partner figures including open breaks, caress and flicks. The session includes time to practise the material, including freestyle dancing, with feedback from the tutor. Learners work with others during partner exercises, but do not need to arrive with a partner. The precise content may vary.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for improvers who have mastered salsa’s basic steps. The level suggests learners developing beyond fundamental techniques, while the class itself includes a short recap. Participation involves partner work, practice with other learners and freestyle dancing, but bringing a partner is not required.
