About this course

This face-to-face course introduces Spanish through selected material from Aula Internacional Plus A1, covering grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and cultural context. Lessons combine structured coursebook work with conversations, role-plays, speaking tasks and pair or group activities, with the teacher using Spanish throughout and adapting the material to the group’s pace. Topics include introductions, personal information, numbers, everyday objects, places, directions, greetings and Spanish-speaking cultures. Learners practise using Spanish in straightforward everyday situations while developing foundational listening and speaking skills.

What you'll learn

• Introduce yourself and other people, and exchange basic personal information
• Use the Spanish alphabet to spell words aloud
• Count and use numbers in everyday contexts, including asking about prices
• Ask for and understand basic directions and locations
• Identify and describe familiar objects, places and people using beginner-level Spanish

Is this course right for you?

Designed for adults with no previous Spanish experience, this course is aimed at complete beginners working at A1 level. It involves speaking from the first lesson, as well as role-plays and pair or group activities. Its concentrated format may suit learners who prefer a faster pace than a gradual course.

• No previous knowledge of Spanish is required.
• The course covers two levels in a concentrated programme rather than following a slower, single-level format.
• Learners should expect regular spoken participation from the first session.

Before you go

• Aula Internacional Plus A1 is required from the second lesson onwards.
• One to two hours of self-study per week is recommended, using exercises or resources suggested by the teacher.
