The course introduces a structured approach to tasting, including how to assess aroma and taste and describe wines using tasting notes. It examines how climate influences wine styles, outlines grape growing and fermentation, and compares established European regions with producers in the New World. Teaching covers major red and white grape varieties, wine labels, storage and serving, value when buying wine, and identifying faults. Food and wine matching is explored through practical tastings.
