Saturday Print Studio: Develop Your Own Projects

About this course

The workshop centres on developing individual printmaking projects, with course content shaped by learners’ interests and existing work. Participants may extend techniques including lino printing, mono-printing, Tetrapak printing and screen printing, or explore relief, intaglio and mixed-media approaches. Sessions combine tutor demonstrations, group discussion and one-to-one guidance. Topics may include image development through drawing, photography and research, composition, colour printing, registration, editioning, and the evaluation and presentation of finished work. Learners work at their own pace while experimenting with different processes and approaches.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners developing beyond fundamental printmaking techniques who want to pursue an individual project with guidance. Some previous printmaking experience is recommended, such as a beginner’s course or equivalent experience. Participation combines independent studio work with demonstrations, group discussion and individual support. Learners must be aged 19 or over on 31 August before the course starts.
