Saturday Printmaking Workshop – Techniques and Personal Projects

About this course

Participants explore printmaking through processes including lino printing, screen printing, Tetrapak printing and monoprinting, alongside the differences between relief and intaglio methods. The workshop covers drawing, observation, mark-making, composition, image development and colour printing, with opportunities to work from varied visual sources and develop personal ideas. Demonstrations, group discussion, questions and individual guidance shape the teaching. Learners also examine registration, simple editioning, and ways to evaluate, discuss and present finished prints. Content is adapted to the interests and experience of the group.

The workshop is intended for learners aged 19 or over, from beginners to those with previous printmaking experience. Its all-levels format combines demonstrations and guided activities with individual project development, discussion and one-to-one guidance. Beginners can be introduced to essential processes, while more experienced participants can extend their technical skills and develop personal work.
