About this course
Participants work in pairs and trios on short scripted scenes from film and television, rehearsing and performing them on camera. The course introduces fundamental screen acting techniques, including working with the camera, understanding shot types, hitting marks and delivering truthful performances. Teaching combines practical exercises, tutor direction, playback and group discussion. Learners analyse text, make choices about character and emotion, explore improvisation and review screen performances to consider how they communicate with an audience and advance a scene’s narrative.
