Screen Acting - Level 2

About this course

Participants work with film and television scripts, including a feature film script, casting scenes and potentially solo monologues. The course explores character back stories, screen persona, genre, casting possibilities and emotional shifts within complex scenes. Teaching combines on-camera performance, playback and analysis with discussion, individual and group feedback, and work in pairs. Learners also work with a director on set to develop truthful performances and examine how preparation, narrative and character choices affect continuity between takes.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for improver-level screen actors developing beyond foundational techniques. Completion of Screen Acting Level 1 or equivalent training is recommended, with learners expected to be comfortable with basic on-camera work, framing, hitting marks, text analysis and short duologue scenes.
