Screen Acting Summer School

About this course

Participants explore acting for film, television, online and commercial work through camera exercises, monologues, duologues and scene rehearsals. The course covers framing, marks, continuity, lighting, sound, camera angles and adapting performances to different shooting set-ups. Teaching includes script breakdown, character development, audition simulations, commercial casting practice and filmed performances reviewed through in-class playback. Learners receive direction and feedback while working with individual monologues, scripted scenes and a casting professional.

The course is open to complete beginners and learners with some acting experience who want to focus on screen work. Participation includes individual performances, paired scene work, workshops, filmed exercises and audition simulations.

Before you go

• Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement, and bring a notebook and water.
• Scripts and technical equipment are provided.
• Filming is reviewed in class and the footage is sent afterwards for viewing only.
