About this course

The course covers the screen-printing process from preparing and exposing screens to mixing inks and producing a two-colour image. Participants explore hand-drawn marks and stencils, process colours, mono-printing and colour-blend techniques. An introduction to photographic practice explains how photographic effects can be achieved, with the option to incorporate pre-made photographic screens. Teaching combines demonstrations, examples, practical work, individual tutoring, small-group activities and group discussions. The course also places screen printing in both historical and contemporary contexts.
