Printmaking

All Levels

An all-levels screenprinting course covering stencil-making, print planning, ink mixing and individual projects in a communal workshop.

About this course

The course introduces screenprinting through non-photographic and photographic stencil techniques. Participants work with paper stencils, wax crayon, liquid filler, wax resist, hand-drawn positives and photographic positives, then apply these methods to planning and producing prints. Teaching also covers workspace setup, ink and colour mixing, paper handling, monoprinting and editioning. After the technical introduction, the course shifts towards individual applications, supported by personal projects and tutorials. Work takes place in a communal print workshop, where ideas and discussion form part of the learning environment.

  • Produce photographic stencils from hand-drawn and photographic positives.
