About this course

The course introduces key jewellery-making processes including piercing, filing, drilling, texturing, annealing, forming, soldering and polishing. Beginners work through foundational techniques, while learners with existing experience can develop their skills through individual projects and new methods. Teaching combines demonstrations and handouts with practice, supported by guidance from the tutor both as a group and individually.

Before you go

• All tools and equipment needed for jewellery making are supplied.
• Materials for the first session are provided; participants must supply their own metal and sundries, such as saw blades, for later sessions.
• A sketchbook is encouraged for notes, handouts, images and designs.
• Closed shoes must be worn for health and safety reasons.
