About this course
The course introduces core jewellery-making techniques including piercing, filing, drilling, texturing, annealing, forming, soldering and polishing. Teaching combines demonstrations and handouts with individual practice, with guidance provided both to the group and to individual learners. Learners with previous experience can use the sessions to develop existing skills, extend their knowledge and explore new techniques through individual projects.

The course is intended for learners at all levels. Beginners can work through fundamental jewellery-making techniques, while those with previous experience can develop their skills and undertake individual projects. Teaching includes both group instruction and individual guidance.

Before you go
- All tools and equipment needed for jewellery making are supplied.
- Materials for the first session are provided; learners must supply their own metal and sundries, such as saw blades, for later sessions.
- A sketchbook is encouraged for notes, handouts, images and designs.
- Closed shoes must be worn for health and safety reasons.
