About this course
The course introduces basic techniques for healthy singing through vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises, posture work and musicianship activities. Participants sing contemporary songs from pop, rock, musical theatre and jazz, developing aural and rhythmic awareness alongside the repertoire. Teaching combines whole-group singing with work in smaller groups, pairs and individually, sometimes with accompaniment. Harmony may be introduced in some songs, and sessions include opportunities to explore music notation and accurate singing. Learners are encouraged to practise between sessions, with supporting materials provided through Google Classroom.
What you'll learn
- Explain basic principles of how the voice works
