About this course
Sessions combine vocal warm-ups, breathing and support work with technical exercises for vocal control, agility and stamina. Learners work on songs across classical, folk, pop and musical theatre styles, alongside musicianship activities that develop aural awareness, rhythm and familiarity with notation. Teaching includes singing with the tutor, group work, harmonies, smaller-group activities, paired exercises and regular solo singing. The course also addresses posture, projection and performance skills, including connection with lyrics and melody.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for singers with previous experience, including those returning after a break who want to review fundamental aspects of singing. Participation includes group, smaller-group, paired and individual work, with solo singing expected regularly. Learners should be able to follow written and spoken instructions in English and take part in discussions.
- Regular solo singing is expected
- Daily practice between sessions is encouraged
- Some ability to hear a note and sing it back at the correct pitch may be helpful
Before you go
- A notebook, pen or pencil, and a folder for organising music and notes are useful.
- Learners are encouraged to practise daily, with suggested activities provided between sessions.
- Course materials may be supported through Google Classroom.
