About this course
The course introduces the mechanics of singing through vocal and physical warm-ups, technical exercises and musical activities. Learners work on posture, breathing, vocal control, range, agility and resonance while exploring selected songs. Teaching combines whole-group and individual instruction, with opportunities to sing in pairs and alone. Repertoire includes unaccompanied singing and work with piano accompaniment, alongside introductory interpretation. Tutor feedback, suggested practice goals and additional learning resources are used to guide development.

Is this course right for you?
Designed for complete or near beginners. Some ability to pitch notes within the vocal range is helpful, but music reading is not needed. The course involves group, paired and individual singing, gentle physical warm-ups and regular practice between sessions.
- Regular practice between classes is encouraged.
- Learners can discuss any issues affecting the physical warm-ups so adjustments can be made.
