Singing Studio: Intermediate

About this course

Sessions combine structured vocal warm-ups with individual coaching on each participant’s chosen song. With live piano accompaniment, the tutor addresses vocal technique, musical and textual precision, pronunciation, expression and interpretation while the rest of the group observes and contributes peer feedback. The course focuses on classical vocal repertoire and includes guidance on practice goals and supporting resources. Students work towards an informal performance of selected repertoire at the end of each term, with the programme agreed with the group.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for intermediate singers with basic vocal technique and several years of experience in vocal training or singing lessons. Learners should be comfortable singing solo repertoire to a small group, observing others’ work and contributing to peer review. Music notation is useful but not essential.

Before you go

• Bring three copies of each chosen song: one for the tutor, one for the accompanist and one for personal use.
• A notepad and pen or a personal recording device may be used to record progress and further goals.
