About this course
Participants develop their own sitcom material, examining plot, structure, character dynamics, comic engines and the underlying theme of the concept. The course also considers whether an idea has enough potential to sustain a series and works towards a polished 30-minute script. Teaching combines professional examples, video case studies, discussion of commissioned sitcoms, dynamic writing exercises and detailed analysis of participants’ work. A small collaborative group provides regular feedback, while weekly homework gives writers specific tasks to apply directly to their scripts.
