About this course
The course begins with a guided examination of objects in the British Museum’s permanent collection, focusing on material choices, techniques, spatial relationships and makers’ intentions. Participants use discussion and observation to inform their own ideas. In the studio, they develop either an exhibition proposal or a small three-dimensional artwork inspired by the visit. Demonstrations, practical activities and individual feedback introduce sculptural methods, workshop terminology, and approaches to presenting and displaying 3D work.
