About this course

The course explores embroidery and slow-stitching through structured tasks alongside more intuitive stitching exercises. Participants work with different qualities of fabric, yarn, colour and layered effects, developing individual pieces without needing to follow a pre-planned design. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations, technical handouts and supported practical work. Sessions include discussion, show and tell, group critique, and tutor guidance provided individually and in groups. Complete beginners can make reference samples, while returning students may receive additional exercises alongside the set work.
