Small Things for Christmas with Catherine-Marie Longtin

About this course

Participants use fabric scraps to sew improvised patchwork blocks, exploring how colour combinations work within their designs. These blocks are then developed into small functional textile items, such as fabric baubles, lavender sachets, needle books, pin cushions and pot holders. The course also covers hand quilting, embellishment and finishing techniques. With a maximum of six participants, the class is structured around making and refining individual sewn projects.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for confident machine stitchers and is labelled Improver, suggesting it is aimed at learners developing beyond fundamental sewing techniques. Participants work on individual textile projects within a small group.

• Learners aged 17 and over may attend independently
