Participants explore how sneakers are developed, from initial concepts through different design stages. The course examines footwear market trends, iconic styles and major collaborations, alongside research into contemporary designs during a visit to a sneaker shop or other off-site location. Practical work includes sketching ideas and using high-top and low-top templates to cut, adapt and assemble three-dimensional card prototypes. This combination of research, theory and making introduces key considerations in footwear design.
