About this course

The course explores nineteenth-century Britain through urbanisation, industrialisation and changing class structures. Topics include working- and middle-class lives, Victorian family life, empire, social reform and campaigns for political rights. Teaching combines class work with homework activities. Learners examine political, economic, social and cultural developments, set individual learning targets with tutor guidance and receive support as they work towards them.
