About this course
Participants present own-choice classical repertoire, selected with tutor advice or approval, in regular individual masterclass sessions. Tutor guidance and peer feedback are used to examine interpretation and vocal technique. Group work includes vocal exercises and technical exploration of posture, breathing and resonance. The course addresses repertoire suitability for the singer’s voice, communicating expression through healthy technique, the emotional and psychological narrative of a piece, and collaborative work with a pianist. Singers introduce their pieces and provide translations where needed, performing different repertoire at least every other week.

- Assess the suitability of classical repertoire for their voice
- Apply healthy vocal technique, including posture, breathing and resonance, to expressive singing
- Interpret the emotional and psychological narrative of a song
