About this course
Sessions begin with focused work on areas such as breathing, support and resonance, considering their purpose and ways to improve them. The remainder uses a masterclass format, with regular individual performances of repertoire selected with tutor guidance and accompanied live on piano. Learners receive detailed feedback while developing vocal interpretation, performance preparation and the relationship between the vocal line and accompaniment. Repertoire may include solo songs in different languages and is chosen for the singer’s voice type, experience and goals.
What you'll learn
- Apply principles of healthy, efficient vocal technique
- Develop vocal interpretation and communication in solo performance
- Coordinate the vocal line with piano accompaniment
- Prepare a range of suitable solo songs for performance
- Extend repertoire across a variety of languages

- Individual masterclass sessions involve performing for the class.
Before you go
- Bring three copies of each chosen song: one for the tutor, one for the accompanist and one for personal use.
