About this course
The course combines advanced conversation practice with grammar development. Learners read authentic or simplified articles, listen to native speakers, and respond through structured dialogues, role plays, presentations, discussions and debates. Topics and resources also provide opportunities to explore Spanish culture. Teaching includes tutor input, group and individual work, audio-visual and IT resources, and homework after each session. Progress is assessed through classroom observation and activities rather than an examination.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for upper-intermediate Spanish learners, labelled Upper Intermediate (B2), who are developing beyond the earlier stages of study. Completion of Post Intermediate Stage 2 is indicated; learners without prior RHACC study are directed to a self-assessment and placement test. Participation includes group and individual work, classroom discussion and homework.
- A placement process is available for learners who have not previously studied Spanish at RHACC
- Regular attendance is advisable to support continuity across the course
- The course is not designed as an examination course

- Learners should bring a pen and paper, or an electronic device if preferred.
- Any required resources or texts will be confirmed at the start of the course.
- Some literacy, numeracy and IT skills may help with language learning; guidance is available to develop these.
