I think working from home is useful, although it can sometimes feel lonely.
Explain a plan
Quiero mejorar mi español para poder trabajar en el extranjero el próximo año.
I want to improve my Spanish so I can work abroad next year.
Tell a short story
Íbamos hacia la playa cuando empezó a llover, así que cambiamos de planes.
We were heading to the beach when it started raining, so we changed our plans.
These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.
About this course
The course develops Spanish communication across present, past and future contexts. Learners practise describing people, places and childhood memories, discussing travel and camping, making holiday plans, renting a car and planning what to take on an excursion. Teaching follows a communicative approach, with classroom activities, role-play and group discussions based on real-life interactions. Progress is reviewed through in-class observation and activities, with learning recorded in a Personal Learning Plan.
What you'll learn
- Describe people, places and habitual activities using the past tense
- Discuss memories, travel plans and daily trips in Spanish
- Communicate in practical travel situations, including renting a car
- Express opinions and make plans using more complex sentences
- Use present, past and future tenses more accurately in conversation
Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for learners working at Intermediate (B1) level who have already studied lower-intermediate Spanish. Participation includes role-play, group discussion and classroom interaction, so learners should be prepared to use Spanish with others.
- Completion of Lower Intermediate Stage 1 or equivalent is stated as suitable preparation
- Recent GCSE Spanish or a CEFR A2 qualification may provide a suitable background
- The course expects learners to be confident using past and future tenses
