Spanish – Intermediate Stage 2

About this course

The course develops Spanish for conversations involving past experiences, future plans and everyday situations. Topics include describing people and places in the past, childhood memories, travel arrangements, daily trips, camping and planning an excursion. Learners also practise expressing opinions and forming more complex sentences. Teaching follows a communicative approach, with role-play, classroom activities and group discussions based on real-life interactions. Progress is monitored through in-class activities and observation, with learning recorded in a Personal Learning Plan.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners progressing towards Intermediate Spanish (B1), rather than those starting from the beginning. It is designed for people who have completed the preceding lower-intermediate stage or an equivalent qualification and who can use past and future tenses. Participation includes role play and group discussion.

• Completion of Lower Intermediate Stage 1 or equivalent is specified
• Recent GCSE Spanish or a CEFR A2 qualification is given as suitable preparation
• Regular attendance is recommended for continued language development
