About this course
This course introduces Spanish through everyday communication, including greetings, personal information, intentions, motivations, languages and leisure activities. Lessons combine spoken interaction with structured work on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Topics include personal pronouns, gender and articles, regular present-tense verbs, and the uses of por, para and porque. The teacher speaks Spanish throughout the lessons to develop listening and comprehension. Group activities and role-plays provide opportunities to practise the language covered in class, alongside discussion of learners’ relationship with Spanish and Spanish culture.

The course is designed for complete beginners who have never studied Spanish. Participation includes group work, role-plays and classroom communication, with the teacher speaking Spanish throughout. The Beginner (A1) label indicates an introductory level, while listening and spoken interaction are central to the lesson format.

- The required coursebook is Aula Internacional Plus: Libro del alumno + MP3 descargable 1 (A1), covering Units 0, 1 and 2.
- The coursebook should be purchased after the first lesson and is available from reception on the day of the second lesson.
