About this course
The course develops introductory Spanish through classroom communication, including introductions, personal information, intentions, motivations and everyday activities. Learners work with vocabulary for numbers, nationalities, professions, workplaces, languages and leisure activities, alongside grammatical foundations such as gender, articles, personal pronouns and regular present-tense verbs. Teaching uses group activities and role-plays, with the teacher speaking Spanish throughout to develop comprehension and listening. Lessons also cover pronunciation, the uses of por, para and porque, and discussion of learners’ relationship with Spanish and Spanish culture.
