About this course
The course develops Spanish communication through group activities and role-plays covering city descriptions, travel, beliefs, feelings, conditions and requirements. Subject areas include politics and society, education, and travel-related vocabulary. Lessons also examine advanced grammar, including relative clauses, passive constructions, indicative and subjunctive usage, impersonal uses of “se”, compound infinitives and the present perfect subjunctive. The teacher uses Spanish throughout, while systematic work on pronunciation and vocabulary supports listening and spoken language practice.

- Express beliefs, positive, negative and neutral feelings, conditions, and requirements.
- Use relative-clause structures, including forms with que, quien and cuyo.
- Distinguish indicative and subjunctive forms after verbs of perception and opinion.
- Apply advanced vocabulary related to travel, politics, society and education.

This course is intended for upper-intermediate Spanish learners who have studied the language for some time and want to progress towards a more advanced level. Previous study of Spanish Level 20, or a course totalling at least 240 class hours, is required. Participation includes group work and role-plays focused on spoken communication.
