Spanish pronunciation through songs

About this course

The course uses songs from Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries to examine challenging Spanish sounds, including vowel sounds and the rolled “r”, alongside intonation and phrase flow. It also considers how geography and history shape regional cultural expressions in Spain, including languages, monuments and gastronomy. Teaching and explanations are in English, with song translations provided where needed. Learners practise pronunciation orally in pairs and small groups, and may sing complete songs if they wish, although singing is not required.

Is this course right for you?

The course is labelled Beginner (A1). Basic knowledge of Spanish is recommended to help learners work with the examples, but the course is also open to anyone interested in Spanish pronunciation. Participation includes pair and small-group oral practice; singing is optional.
