Spanish Wine Scholar: Duero River Valley (Castilla y León)

About this course

This masterclass examines the Duero River Valley within Castilla y León, covering its history, geography, cultural heritage and distinctive terroirs. It forms part of the Wine Scholar Guild’s Spanish Wine Scholar curriculum and introduces the regional focus explored in the wider course. Teaching centres on a guided tasting of wines from across the area, including Tempranillo-based wines from Ribera del Duero, reds from Toro, whites from Rueda and examples from lesser-known parts of Castilla y León. The tasting is used to explore the region’s variety of styles and winemaking traditions.
