Spicy sculpture for all levels: experiment with technique and methods

About this course

The course uses the idea of “spicy” as an open-ended starting point for sculptural work, which may be interpreted through themes such as food, humour, sensuality, personal narratives or political satire. Learners develop an idea from initial research to a resolved piece, beginning with armature construction and exploring modelling, construction, mould-making, casting and surface finishing.

• Apply modelling and construction techniques to develop sculptural forms
• Experiment with mould-making and casting processes
• Select and combine suitable materials and techniques for an individual project
