About this course
The class explores Sri Lankan home cooking through dishes such as lentil dhal, beetroot, chicken and pineapple curries, fish cutlets, coconut rice and sambal. Participants choose one dish to focus on while also helping prepare other recipes in a shared kitchen. The session follows a family-style format, with the group working together before sitting down to eat the meal they have prepared.
What you'll learn
- Prepare a selected traditional Sri Lankan dish.
- Cook a range of Sri Lankan recipes, including curries, lentil dhal, rice, sambal or fish cutlets.
- Contribute to the preparation of a shared meal across several recipes.

Listed as suitable for all levels, the class combines individual focus with shared kitchen work. Participants are expected to work as part of the group, move between recipes and contribute to a communal meal.
- Each participant focuses on one chosen dish while assisting with others.
- The cooking is organised as a collaborative, family-style activity.

- The menu contains chicken and fish, including mackerel and Maldive fish, and may change.
- Listed allergens include celery, fish, gluten including wheat, milk, mustard and soya.
- Specific dietary requirements should be communicated to the team in advance. Ingredients will not be substituted, so the class may not suit all dietary needs.
