Stained And Fused Glass: Traditional & Contemporary Skills

About this course

Learners explore traditional stained-glass methods including lead work, copper foil and glass applique, alongside warm-glass processes such as painting, fusing and slumping. The course combines tutor demonstrations, guided practice, discussion and feedback with individual project work. Participants plan designs, prepare working drawings and maquettes, and develop projects suited to their experience. Technical work includes cutting and shaping glass, preparing materials for kiln processes, applying copper foil, soldering and working with lead. Safe use of glass-making tools and equipment is also covered.
