Stained Glass and Mosaic

About this course

Learners explore stained glass and mosaic through demonstrations, discussion and practical work. The course covers cutting glass and tiles, assembling appliqué and mosaics, and creating panels using copper foil or lead. Beginners start with appliqué and copper foiling, while more experienced participants can experiment with further processes and more complex designs. Projects are developed from learners’ own ideas, with group and individual demonstrations, shared discussion and work at an individual pace. Completed projects are reviewed with the tutor and other learners, including discussion of design and making decisions.

Is this course right for you?

• Some basic materials are available in the workshop, while others may be purchased after discussion with the tutor.
• Materials for first projects are supplied at an additional cost.
• Later projects require learners to buy their own glass and lead; supplier details are provided during the first session.
• Learners are expected to make their own notes, with some handouts provided.
