Stained Glass and Mosaic

About this course

Participants explore mosaic, appliqué, copper foiling and leading while developing personal designs for panels or other objects. Practical work includes cutting glass and tiles, assembling mosaics and stained glass, and applying copperfoil or leaded construction methods. Teaching combines group and individual demonstrations, discussion and supervised making. Learners work at their own pace, record ideas and instructions in a workbook, and review completed projects with the tutor and other students. The course accommodates different levels of experience, with beginners starting with appliqué and copper foiling and more experienced learners experimenting with complex designs.

• Some basic materials are available in the workshop, and some materials can be purchased during the course.
