About this course
Participants study the history of corsetry while developing a corset through pattern cutting, fitting and construction. The course begins with a fitted toile before moving on to a finished corset, which can be made to personal measurements or a generic size. Teaching combines practical exercises with step-by-step guidance on corsetry components, precision sewing and features suited to modern wear. There is also an opportunity to investigate decorative techniques towards the end of the course.
