About this course
This taster introduces stone and wood carving through demonstrations, guided practical work and discussion. Participants explore basic carving techniques, create a small design and transfer it to a carving block before producing a small carving in stone and/or wood. The course also covers safe tool use and basic tool maintenance, with health and safety guidance for beginners. One-to-one guidance is available during the work, and visual examples from stone and wood sculptors provide material for discussion.
