About this course

Participants explore hand-building methods for creating ceramic vessels, including pinching, coiling and slab-building. The course also introduces traditional and contemporary approaches to decorating clay surfaces, such as intaglio, relief, sgraffito, coloured slip painting and stencilling. Firing and glazing processes form part of the course, giving learners an overview of how hand-built work is finished.
