About this course
The course examines plaster properties, undercuts and the construction of open-face and two-part moulds for slip casting. Learners develop mould-making techniques through workshop activities, including multi-part mould construction and methods for producing more precise casts. Sustainability is integrated into the ceramic processes covered, with attention to recycled materials, waste reduction and the environmental effects of energy and material use. The teaching combines tutor guidance with practical activities.
