About this course

The course develops continuity and whole-body coordination through the Bright and Dark sides of the 8 Form, with attention to smooth transitions and energy continuity. Learners also begin a progressive section of the 16 Form and revisit core techniques through more demanding combinations. Qi Gong practice includes the 5 Element sequence, while Wu Shu conditioning patterns are used to work on power, balance and body awareness. Warm-up and cool-down sequences are followed through verbal instruction, alongside exercises for breath control and focused intention.

  • Perform warm-up and cool-down sequences fluently and with control while following verbal instruction.
  • Practise the 5 Element Qi Gong sequence with improved coordination, breath control and focused intention.
  • Use conditioning exercises safely to develop power, balance and body awareness.
  • Perform both Bright and Dark sides of the 8 Form with continuity and stable transitions.
  • Perform and memorise a progressive section of the 16 Form accurately.

The course is labelled Improver and is intended for learners developing beyond fundamental Tai Chi techniques. Core practices are revisited, making the course suitable for new learners at this level as well as returning learners. Participation involves following verbal instruction, continuous movement and conditioning exercises.
