About this course

The class combines a circular warm-up with practice of basic steps, travelling sequences and a short tap routine. Learners work on traditional tap steps, combinations, floor patterns and the relationship between timing and style. Teaching includes regular tutor feedback, student exchanges of ideas and self-assessment activities. Learners also set personal targets linked to the course outcomes and possible future progression.

What you'll learn

  • Demonstrate one-, two- and three-beat tap steps used in warm-ups and travelling sequences
  • Combine traditional tap steps into short amalgamations
  • Perform a traditional single-time step using simple floor patterns
  • Explain how timing affects tap styling
