About this course

The course uses practical dance work alongside background information on tap traditions. Participants learn traditional steps and combinations including time steps, Suzy Qs and Steve Condos rudiments, as well as longer tap standards. Sessions also introduce aspects of tap dance history and provide practice in absorbing sequences through body memory. Learners work alongside people with different levels of ability while developing their tap skills.

The course is open to learners at all levels and takes place through practical dance activities in a mixed-ability group. A minimum level of fitness is necessary for participation. Learners with particular learning needs are advised to speak with the tutor for guidance.
