Taster Class

About this course

Designed for complete novices, this introductory class combines a demonstration of wheel-throwing techniques with guided individual practice. Participants work at their own potter’s wheel while learning the basic process of making pots and gaining an initial understanding of ceramics. The session takes place in a small adult group, with no more than eight participants. Two selected pots are completed after the class through firing and glazing, ready for later collection.

Is this course right for you?

The class is intended for adults who are complete novices in pottery. Participation takes place in a small group, while each learner has sole use of a potter’s wheel during the practical work.

Before you go

• All materials are included.
• The best two pots are fired twice and glazed in studio-speckled white.
• Finished pots are collected later from the studio.
• Additional pots can be fired for an extra charge.
