About this course

The course examines the I Ching’s purpose, history and place within Chinese culture and philosophy. Topics include Yin and Yang theory, trigrams and hexagrams, Confucius’ moral and social interpretations, and Laozi’s philosophy. Interactive lecture sections are combined with reading and group discussion, including consideration of life issues raised by the I Ching. Learners will also explore how its concepts may be applied to everyday situations and different scenarios.
