The Photography Short Course

About this course

The course develops technical and aesthetic understanding through workshops covering film, digital SLR and larger-format cameras, alongside picture-making principles relevant to traditional and digital media. Slideshow lectures examine historical and contemporary photographic work, informing assignments and feedback sessions. Participants then develop their own ideas through projects using studio, black-and-white darkroom and digital facilities. Activities include a studio portrait shoot and introductions to liquid emulsion and pinhole photography. Optional exhibition visits and an informal review of participants’ work provide opportunities for discussion and feedback.
