About this course
The course examines the emergence of the French State after the 1940 defeat and its political, social and economic reorganisation. It considers dictatorship, public morality, repression, exclusion and persecution, then traces collaboration with Nazi Germany from its early objectives to Vichy’s involvement in the Nazi war effort.
