About this course

The course develops wheel-throwing skills through individually tailored instruction. Learners may be introduced to throwing at the potter’s wheel or work on specific techniques to improve their existing practice. With no more than three students in a class, teaching can be adapted to each learner’s skills, needs and aims. The course is open to all levels, including experienced potters seeking focused development.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners at all levels, from those with no previous experience to experienced potters refining particular skills. Classes involve individual work at the wheel alongside tailored teacher guidance in a group of up to three.

  • Suitable for experienced potters seeking focused instruction
  • Limited to three students per class

Before you go

  • An apron is requested, and clay may make clothing messy.
  • Short nails and tied-back hair are recommended.
  • All necessary workshop tools are available for use.
  • Glazing in one of five studio glazes is included and carried out by a technician.
  • Finished pieces are available for collection after the studio confirms they are ready, usually within 3 to 5 weeks of the course ending.
