About this course
The course centres on drawing from observation through regular study of a life model. Participants use the model as a recurring subject for developing their understanding of drawing and practising observational work in the studio.

The course is intended for beginners, and no previous drawing experience is required. It suits learners starting observational drawing and working from a life model in a studio setting.
Before you go
- Easels, drawing boards, charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the studio.
- Cartridge and watercolour paper are provided in the studio.
- Learners may bring additional materials for personal use, such as drawing pencils, Conté crayons, pastels, ink pens, coloured pencils, erasers, a pencil sharpener or a sketchbook.
- A full suggested materials list is provided before the course begins.
